Heavy Rain Advisory Issued for Kaohsiung and Pingtung; 10 Counties Including Hsinchu on Alert

(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 12) The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain advisory. Due to the influence of a frontal system, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely. Today, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County may experience localized heavy rain or torrential rain. There is also a chance of localized heavy rain in areas from Nantou to Tainan, south of Hsinchu, and in the mountainous areas of Yilan and Hualien.

The weather bureau reminds the public to be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, and rising river levels in mountainous areas, and to watch for flooding in low-lying areas. (Editor: Chung Wei-wei) 1150612
