Fang You-Xin Nominated for Taipei Theater Awards While Hosting Ceremony, Thanks Seniors for Opportunities

The 2nd Taipei Theater Awards will take place on July 6, with host Fang You-Xin also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical category this year. She expressed her gratitude to senior figures such as Wu Nien-jen, Lo Pei-an, and Lee Yung-feng for their mentorship and opportunities, hoping to convey the charm of theater to audiences.

In a press release distributed through CTS, Fang You-Xin stated that the Taipei Theater Awards is a significant moment for theater professionals. She hopes the ceremony and live broadcast will help more people realize how vibrant and creative theater can be, encouraging them to attend live performances. "If we can achieve this, I believe I will have fulfilled a kind of mission as the host."

Reflecting on her journey from singer to actress to stage performer, Fang emotionally expressed her deep appreciation to Greenray Theater Company for giving her the chance to debut in stage theater. She also thanked mentors Wu Nien-jen, Lo Pei-an, and Lee Yung-feng for their guidance and meaningful encounters, saying, "These accumulated experiences have transformed into nourishment through each performance, shaping who I am today."

In addition to her first-time role as ceremony host, Fang is nominated for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the musical 'Tears of the Fire God.' She shared, "During rehearsals, I learned a great deal about firefighting expertise and emotional conflict, deepening my respect for firefighters. I hope to use this stage production to help more people recognize these unsung heroes."

Fang recounted an incident during filming when her co-star Yang Ta-jen accidentally hit her nose. "I was in so much pain that tears almost came out. Fortunately, the next line required intense emotion, so my genuine pain unexpectedly blended into the character's state," she said. Fang added that Yang was momentarily stunned and nearly forgot his lines. "Later, backstage crew praised me for being especially fierce that day—because I was truly in pain!"

The 2nd Taipei Theater Awards ceremony will be held on July 6 at the Globe Theater, Taipei Performing Arts Center, with live television broadcast starting at 7:00 PM on CTS Main Channel.
