(CNA) Lithium iron phosphate cathode material manufacturer Enermax Technology Corporation has entered Tesla's supply chain, and its stock price has recently surged, reaching the standard for public announcement of important transaction information. Today, the company announced its self-reported net loss attributable to the parent company for May was NT$25.23 million, a slight decrease of 7.7% from the loss in the same period last year, indicating it has not yet escaped its loss-making state, with a net loss per share of NT$0.37 for the month.
Enermax Technology Corporation's net loss attributable to the parent company for the first quarter of this year was NT$97.56 million, an increase of 1.74 times compared to the loss in the same period last year, with a net loss per share of NT$1.43 for the quarter.
Enermax Technology Corporation's NT$280 million cash capital increase was approved last week. The company immediately plans to invest over NT$300 million to build a new 50,000-ton LFP (lithium iron phosphate) precursor production line in southern Taiwan. This line will primarily be used to fulfill contracts with North American customers and is expected to begin shipments in 2027.
Spurred by related news, Enermax Technology Corporation's stock price has surged for five consecutive trading days since the 11th, hitting the daily limit. The stock opened higher this morning, reaching a high of NT$41, a new high since February 2025, before turning negative. It closed down NT$1.1 or 2.68% at NT$39.9.
Battery industry analysts believe that with the US-China tech war, China currently dominates the global lithium battery supply. Due to geopolitical considerations, other countries are beginning to consider the security of "non-Chinese" battery supply chains. Enermax Technology Corporation is one of the few companies outside of China that possesses complete LFP lithium battery cathode material manufacturing technology and patents, placing it in an advantageous position.
