(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 18) A large-scale power outage occurred in Zhongshan District, Taipei City at 10:09 PM today. Firefighters reported that the main cause of the outage was a short circuit in a transformer box at a construction site on Jilin Road, which also emitted thick smoke. Taiwan Power Company stated that approximately 2,866 households were affected, and power was restored at 10:27 PM.

Taiwan Power Company stated that due to thick smoke reported from a construction site in Lane 174, Jilin Road, Taiwan Power Company cooperated with the fire department for disaster relief safety and temporarily cut off power at 10:09 PM.
