(Central News Agency, reporter Hong Xueguang, Kaohsiung, June 18) Liu, a female motorcyclist in Kaohsiung, was stopped for running a red light. Dissatisfied with being cited, she turned back and rammed into a police officer, and even after being arrested, she attacked the officer with her bare hands, injuring him, and kicked the transparent partition inside the police car. The Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office has concluded its investigation and indicted her on charges of obstructing official duties, assault, and property damage.

The indictment from the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office states that 58-year-old Ms. Liu was riding her motorcycle on March 14 this year and violated traffic laws by making an illegal left turn at a red light at the intersection of Fengsong Road and Fengcheng Road in Fengshan District. She then made an illegal right turn at a red light at the intersection of Beizhong Street and Jingwu Road Lane 384. A police officer followed her and stopped her, issuing a traffic violation citation in front of No. 33, Lane 384, Jingwu Road.

However, Ms. Liu was dissatisfied after being cited. She first rode away and then immediately turned back, accelerating towards the police officer who was handling official duties by the roadside. Fortunately, the officer managed to dodge in time, and no serious injuries occurred. The police arrested her on the spot, but Ms. Liu continued to resist, attacking the officer with her bare hands and causing abrasions and bruises to Officer Zeng's face and hands.

What's more, after being placed in the police car, Ms. Liu continued to kick the transparent safety partition inside the vehicle, causing it to break and be damaged. After being taken to the police station, she also scratched the left forearm of Officer Wu at the station. After reviewing surveillance footage, body camera recordings, and other evidence, the case was transferred for investigation on charges of obstructing official duties, assault, and property damage.

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office has concluded its investigation and has legally indicted Ms. Liu on charges of obstructing official duties while driving a motor vehicle, assault, and damaging property under the charge of a public official. (Editor: Long Baian) 1150618
