Heavy Rain Warnings Issued for Nantou and Northern-Central Taiwan

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a heavy rain warning on June 18, stating that active afternoon convective cloud systems are likely to cause intense rainfall over short periods. Nantou County is currently under a warning for local heavy rain or extremely heavy rain.

Localized heavy rain is also expected in Keelung, the Greater Taipei area, regions north of central Taiwan, and the mountainous areas of Yilan. Residents are advised to stay alert for lightning strikes and strong gusts. Precautions should be taken in mountainous regions against landslides and rockfalls, while those in low-lying areas should be vigilant regarding potential flooding.
