11 Cities and Prefectures Under High-Temperature Advisory, Taipei's Shilin Reaches 36.9 Degrees Celsius This Morning

(Central News Agency reporter Chang Hsiung-feng, Taipei, June 21) The Central Weather Administration updated its high-temperature information this morning, with 11 counties and cities including Taipei and New Taipei City bracing for temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius. As of 11 AM, the highest temperature recorded was 36.9 degrees Celsius in Shilin District, Taipei City.

The Central Weather Administration updated its high-temperature information this morning, indicating that the weather across the island is hot, and the range of high-temperature areas has expanded. During the day, New Taipei City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Tainan City, Pingtung County, and Hualien County are under an orange alert, with a chance of continuous high temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius. Keelung City, Taipei City, Hsinchu County, and Kaohsiung City are under a yellow alert, with temperatures expected to exceed 36 degrees Celsius.

According to the Central Weather Administration's website, as of 11 AM today, Shilin District in Taipei City recorded the highest temperature at 36.9 degrees Celsius, followed by 36.5 degrees Celsius in Zhutian Township, Pingtung County. Other areas with high temperatures include Xindian District in New Taipei City at 36.4 degrees Celsius and Tianwei Township in Changhua County at 36.1 degrees Celsius.
