(CNA Taipei, June 22) - China's Ministry of Commerce announced today that it is immediately adding 10 U.S. entities to its export control list, prohibiting Chinese exporters from supplying dual-use items to these 10 entities.

According to an announcement released on the official website of China's Ministry of Commerce, in accordance with relevant provisions of laws and regulations such as the "China Export Control Law" and the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Export Control of Dual-Use Items and Technologies," and to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, it has been decided to add 10 U.S. entities to the export control list.

According to the announcement, the 10 U.S. entities are Aveox, Inc., Red Cat Holdings, Inc., Teal Drones, Inc., IMSAR, LLC, Jaia Robotics, Inc., Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., Oshkosh Defense, LLC, L3Harris Maritime Services, Inc., MP Materials Corp., and USA Rare Earth, Inc.

The announcement stated that two measures will be taken. First, exporters are prohibited from exporting dual-use items to the aforementioned 10 entities, and organizations and individuals in any country or region are prohibited from transferring or providing dual-use items originating from China to the aforementioned entities; related export activities currently underway must be immediately stopped. Second, if export is absolutely necessary under special circumstances, exporters must apply to the Ministry of Commerce.

China's Ministry of Commerce also mentioned that the announcement will officially take effect from the date of publication.

A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce, in response to a reporter's question, stated that in response to the U.S. government's addition of "Chinese Military Companies" to its list, and in accordance with relevant provisions of laws and regulations such as the "China Export Control Law" and the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Export Control of Dual-Use Items and Technologies," it has been decided to add the aforementioned 10 U.S. military-related entities to the export control list, emphasizing that no exporter shall violate the regulations.

The U.S. Pentagon released a new list on June 8 of Chinese companies it believes are assisting China's military, including e-commerce group Alibaba, search engine giant Baidu, and automaker BYD. This move is expected to escalate U.S.-China tensions. (Editor: Lu Jia-rong / Chiu Kuo-chiang) 1150622
