(CNA) - National Taiwan University (NTU) College of Medicine Dean Wu Ming-hsien suffered out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). NTU Hospital confirmed today that Wu was initially transported from his home to Taipei Medical University Hospital for treatment and has since been transferred to NTU Hospital for rescue efforts. The hospital stated that detailed medical information cannot be disclosed to the public.
Wu Ming-hsien served as the Superintendent of NTU Hospital from August 2020 to July 2025 and has been the current Dean of the NTU College of Medicine since August 2025. Today, news emerged of his critical condition, and NTU Hospital confirmed that rescue efforts are ongoing. Wu Ming-hsien frequently posts on Facebook; his post from two days ago mentioned that the national recruitment rate for internal medicine residents in Taiwan this year was only 61%.
