(CNA, Taipei, June 23) - As Taiwan stocks experience increased volatility at high levels, investors are adopting a wait-and-see approach. According to the latest statistics from the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation, as of June 18, a total of 91 Taiwan stock ETFs had 17,035,034 beneficiaries. This represents a decrease of 86,441 people from the previous week, halting the previous continuous record highs.
Additionally, some investors are shifting towards more conservative high-dividend ETFs. Observing the top two Taiwan stock ETFs with the largest increase in beneficiaries last week, both are high-dividend ETFs. Among them, the Yuanta Taiwan High Dividend ETF (00919) saw its beneficiary count increase by 22,500 people weekly, taking the top spot in popularity. Following closely was the Taishin High Dividend 30 ETF (00918), with a weekly increase of 8,552 beneficiaries.
A further analysis of the top 10 Taiwan stock ETFs by beneficiary increase last week reveals that 3 are high-dividend ETFs and 3 are actively managed ETFs. These include the actively managed Fubon Taiwan Long Leap ETF (00405A) ranking third with a weekly increase of 7,762 beneficiaries, the actively managed Allianz Dynamic 50 ETF (00404A) ranking fifth with a weekly increase of 3,687 beneficiaries, and the actively managed CTBC Taiwan Income ETF (00406A) ranking seventh with a weekly increase of 2,346 beneficiaries.
Notably, the leading Taiwan stock ETF, the Yuanta Taiwan 50 ETF (0050), saw an increase of 6,698 beneficiaries last week, ranking fourth. The inverse ETF, Yuanta Taiwan 50 Inverse 1x ETF (00632R), saw an increase of 1,154 beneficiaries last week, ranking eighth. The inclusion of both 0050 and the inverse 00632R in the rankings reflects the battle between bulls and bears in the Taiwan stock market.
Taiwan stocks have shown strong momentum this year, frequently reaching new highs and driving rapid growth in the Taiwan stock ETF market. Statistics show that since the beginning of the year, the total number of beneficiaries for all Taiwan stock ETFs has increased by 4,861,544. (Editor: Chang Chun-mao) 1150623
