Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration Launches Cycling Guide Training Program to Enhance Tourist Experience

The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration (SMLNSA) announced today the launch of a professional training program for cycling guides. The initiative aims to cultivate talents equipped with skills in cycling safety, route navigation, and local historical interpretation. A total of 90 spots are available across beginner and advanced courses, open to tourism industry professionals, tour guides, and interested members of the public.

SMLNSA officials stated that as demand for low-carbon travel and immersive experiences rises, the role of professional cycling guides has become critical. These guides serve not only as safety escorts for travelers but also as cultural ambassadors who introduce the lake's natural landscapes and local stories.

Upon completion of the training, qualified guides will be prioritized for SMLNSA-led cycling events. Their profiles and available itineraries will also be listed on the official Sun Moon Lake cycling tourism website to facilitate matchmaking with travelers, travel agencies, and local rental shops. The curriculum includes practical sessions on the iconic round-the-lake cycling path, the Toushe area, and the newly completed Songbolun section, ensuring guides can provide safe and insightful services to visitors.
