(CNA reporter Chang Chun-hsiang Hsinchu, June 23) Semiconductor manufacturing equipment supplier TEL Taiwan (Tokyo Electron Taiwan) is holding the 2026 Robot Competition. Registration closes at 5 PM on June 26. This year's competition is themed "Baseball Pitching," with total prize money and subsidies exceeding NT$1 million.
TEL Taiwan issued a press release stating that participating teams in this year's robot competition will build their own robots and score points by accurately pitching baseballs into a target area through precise control and strategic design. It not only tests speed and accuracy but also challenges mechanical design, programming skills, and teamwork.
To promote science popularization from the ground up, TEL Taiwan announced that it has invited three strong high school teams: National Chung-Kang Senior High School, Mingdao High School (Taichung City), and National Southern Science Park International Experimental High School to participate.
TEL Taiwan stated that each of the 28 teams that advance to the finals will receive a production subsidy of NT$40,000 and have the chance to compete for a championship prize of NT$120,000. University and college students interested in participating are welcome to form teams. (Editor: Chang Chun-mao) 0623115
