(Taipei, June 24, CNA Foreign News) Russian and Ukrainian authorities stated today that a Russian airstrike on Ukraine resulted in the death of one woman, while a Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol caused a city-wide power outage.

According to Agence France-Presse, as ceasefire negotiations led by the United States, aimed at ending Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II, remain stalled, both Russia and Ukraine have intensified their attacks in recent weeks.

Oleg Synegubov, head of the military administration of Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast, posted on Telegram that the city of Balakliya was subjected to a nighttime drone attack, which killed a 56-year-old woman.

The attack not only caused fires and affected multiple residential buildings but also resulted in a 21-year-old woman experiencing "acute stress reaction."

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the mayor of Sevastopol, stated on Telegram that the Ukrainian attack caused a city-wide power outage in Sevastopol.

Sevastopol is located on the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014. Due to Crimea's high logistical strategic value, the Ukrainian military frequently bombards the area with missiles and drones.

Razvozhayev urged residents to assist vulnerable neighbors and conserve mobile phone battery power for emergency communications to prevent overloading the power system. (Compiled by Chen Yu-ting) 1150624
