(CNA Taipei, June 24) - The People's Liberation Army Daily published an article today stating that the first 10-week training class for senior PLA cadres was held at the National Defense University in Beijing. During the training, CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping said at the opening ceremony that all thoughts and actions of seeking personal gain and corruption are incompatible with the nature and purpose of the Communist Party of China.

2027 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. During Xi Jinping's tenure, which began in November 2012, a vigorous anti-corruption campaign has been launched within the military, targeting officials from the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission to the Minister of National Defense. The CCP's PLA Daily published an article on its front page today titled "Welcoming the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Army with a New Political Outlook - Notes from the First Training Class for Senior PLA Cadres," which mentioned the above content.

The article stated that the first training class for senior PLA cadres was held at the National Defense University from April 8 to June 16. Xi Jinping, as the Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the CCP, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, claiming that "The CCP is a Marxist party that always represents the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people, has no special interests of its own, and all thoughts and actions of seeking personal gain and corruption are incompatible with the nature and purpose of the CCP."

The article further stated that the army is the armed force, and there can be absolutely no disloyal individuals in the army, nor any place for corrupt elements to hide. Senior military cadres hold important positions and play a crucial role in the construction of the troops. They must take the lead in resisting the unhealthy tendencies of seeking personal gain and corruption, and set an example for officers and soldiers with their loyalty, cleanliness, and responsibility, as well as their practical actions.

The article mentioned that this training class for senior PLA cadres adopted a model of integrating and promoting "expert guidance, collective study, and individual self-study," and arranged for more than 40 theoretical lectures and over 10 key text studies.

The article also mentioned that during the training period, participants watched cautionary education films, organized study sessions on the "Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China," and conducted special studies on the Central Military Commission's "Several Measures on Strengthening the Education, Management, and Supervision of Senior Military Cadres." At the same time, in the first week of enrollment, an activity called "Recalling the Beginning of a Soldier, Comprehending the Responsibility of a General" was launched, organizing participants to re-take the oath of joining the Party, re-sing "The Three Main Rules of Discipline and the Eight Points for Attention," and practice basic formation movements during morning exercises.

The article stated that the participants unanimously agreed that as senior military cadres, they must implement the "Chairman of the Central Military Commission Responsibility System," and also mentioned that the Central Military Commission "highly values this training."
