Taiwan Stocks Fall 1057.05 Points

(CNA Taipei, 24th) The Taipei stock market opened lower and closed lower today, falling 1057.05 points to 46043.6 points, a decrease of 2.24%, with a transaction value of NT$1,453.618 billion.

The weighted index opened at 46909.98 points, reaching a intraday high of 46909.98 points and a low of 45819.71 points; the index excluding financial stocks was 41392.6 points, down 956.25 points.

Changes in the eight major stock categories: Cement and ceramic stocks fell 0.29%, food stocks rose 0.14%, petrochemical stocks rose 2.52%, textile stocks rose 0.16%, machinery and electrical stocks fell 2.58%, paper stocks rose 1.62%, construction stocks fell 0.11%, and financial stocks fell 2.08%.

Buy orders were 26,532,706 shares, sell orders were 19,741,956 shares, and transactions were 16,558,216 shares.

At the close, 497 stocks rose, 507 stocks fell, and 99 stocks remained unchanged.

The top 5 stocks by transaction volume were Innolux, AUO, KGI Taiwan 5X Long ETF, Yuanta Taiwan 50 Leveraged 2X ETF, and UMC.

The top 5 stocks by gain were Tong Jia, Si-Hua, Xunjie, Jie Lin, and Formosa Plastics.
