(CNA Taipei, June 24) Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony of the Summer Davos Forum held in Dalian today. Li Qiang stated that amidst the current rise of unilateralism and protectionism, China has consistently adhered to proactively expanding its opening up.
According to a report by Hong Kong Radio, Li Qiang also said that China's integrated development with the world has never been a temporary measure, but rather a strategic move that follows the trend of history and is rooted in its own development philosophy.
Li Qiang further pointed out that China's economy in the second quarter of this year has maintained a good operating momentum, and the demand potential of China's super-large market continues to be unleashed.
Li Qiang said that driving innovation is the key password for China's long-term economic growth and stable development. Chinese innovation is "achieved through hard work and internal improvement." There are no shortcuts in scientific research and development, nor can innovation advantages be gained solely by copying others. The competitiveness of Chinese products is not due to subsidies from the Chinese government. China's emerging technologies and products bring opportunities, not shocks, and empowerment, not threats, to the world.
Li Qiang pointed out that in the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, no country or enterprise can do it all alone. Regardless of how international circumstances change, China's door of opening up will only open wider. China will further expand market access, fully implement national treatment for foreign-funded enterprises, and continue to build a first-class business environment.
The 17th Summer Davos Forum is being held in Dalian, Liaoning, from June 23rd, with nearly 100 countries and regions and over a thousand guests attending, including prime ministers from South Korea, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, and other countries. (Editor: Lu Jia-rong / Zhu Jian-ling) 1150624
