(CNA Taipei, June 24) Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Oakland Athletics' Taiwanese pitcher Chuang Chen-Chung-ao delivered a career-best performance in Triple-A today, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings in his start, including 6 strikeouts. Boston Red Sox's Triple-A infielder Cheng Tsung-Che had two hits in the game.
In today's Triple-A matchup between the Athletics and the San Francisco Giants, Chuang Chen-Chung-ao allowed baserunners in the first two innings but kept the score at zero. He retired all three batters he faced in the third and fourth innings. In the fifth inning, he gave up a leadoff hit but then recorded two outs before exiting. His teammates did not allow any runs, and the team won 11-2.
Chuang Chen-Chung-ao threw 73 pitches over 4.2 innings. As he did not complete 5 innings, he was not eligible for a win or loss. He allowed 2 hits and no runs, marking his first scoreless outing in Triple-A. He also recorded 6 strikeouts, 2 walks, and his fastest pitch was 94.4 mph (approximately 152 km/h).
