(Central News Agency, Tainan, June 25) Starting from the 115th academic year, Tainan City will fully subsidize lunch fees for junior high and elementary school students. The Tainan City Government announced today that lunch fees for junior high and elementary school teachers will also be fully subsidized, allowing teachers and students to dine peacefully in classrooms and implement dietary and life education.

The Tainan City Government's Bureau of Education issued a press release today stating that lunch is an indispensable part of students' dietary and nutritional education. The city government recognizes the hard work of teachers in promoting students' dietary and life education and has decided to fully subsidize not only student lunches starting from the 115th academic year but also teachers' lunch expenses.

The Bureau of Education stated that including junior high and elementary school teachers' lunches in the subsidy demonstrates the city government's determination to value education and care for teachers and students. In the future, the quality of school lunches will be improved, with a focus on food safety, nutritional balance, local ingredients, and dietary education, making lunch an important force in accompanying children's healthy growth.

The Bureau of Education initially estimates that each teacher will be subsidized a fixed amount of NT$56 per meal, with a total annual expenditure of nearly NT$60 million; each student will be subsidized a fixed amount of NT$56 per meal, with a total annual expenditure of nearly NT$1.6 billion.
