(CNA) - Following Micron's better-than-expected earnings report and a 503-point surge in the Taiwan Futures Index after hours, the Taiwan Stock Exchange opened higher today, rising over 741 points in morning trade to around 46785, reclaiming the 5-day moving average. The gains later moderated.

TSMC rose NT$20 to NT$2410, UMC saw a slight dip, Hon Hai gained NT$5.5 to NT$261.5, the top-ranked stock, Etron Technology, climbed NT$125 to NT$18450, and the second-ranked stock, Winbond Electronics, surged NT$270 to NT$9770.
