Kinmen, June 25 (CNA) Kinmen County Magistrate Chen Fu-hai announced that the county government has decided to increase the retention bonus for medical personnel at Kinmen Hospital by 50%. The aim is to strengthen talent cultivation and retention mechanisms, gradually achieving the goal of localized medical resources.

According to a press release issued by the Kinmen County Health Bureau today, the first meeting of the Kinmen County Medical Care Development Fund Management Committee for the fiscal year 115 (2026) was held recently. During the meeting, Chen Fu-hai announced the 50% increase in the hospital's medical personnel retention bonus, effective retroactively from January 1, 115 (2026). The move is intended to retain outstanding medical professionals through more competitive compensation and support measures, ensuring that residents can receive more stable and high-quality medical care services in their hometown.

Chen Fu-hai also expressed concern about the progress of the second medical building at Kinmen Hospital. He pointed out that the second medical building will not only increase the number of beds and medical space but also help strengthen critical care capacity, improve the inpatient and outpatient service environment, and provide more space for specialty development. This will enable Kinmen Hospital to have more comprehensive medical service functions and further enhance local medical autonomy.

Chen Fu-hai stated that the county government will fully support the hospital in promoting the second medical building project. Whether it is seeking funding from the central government, coordinating with various ministries, or handling related administrative tasks, the county will provide necessary support to accelerate the project's progress.

Li Chin-chih, Director of the Kinmen County Health Bureau, said that they will continue to assist Kinmen Hospital in strengthening the allocation of specialist physicians, optimizing consultation processes, and improving doctor-patient communication quality. The goal is to create a more friendly, efficient, and responsive medical environment, ensuring that Kinmen residents can enjoy more considerate, impactful, and high-quality medical services.
