(CNA Taipei, June 25) The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain advisory this morning. Typhoon Mikala is moving north, and the approaching front and strengthening southwest winds will cause localized torrential rainfall. Kaohsiung and Pingtung should prepare for extremely heavy rain, Taipei, New Taipei, and Tainan for heavy rain, and Yunlin, Chiayi, and other seven counties and cities for heavy rain.

The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain advisory. Today, Pingtung County and Kaohsiung City may experience localized heavy or extremely heavy rain. Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Tainan City may experience localized heavy rain or heavy rain. Keelung, the North Coast, Yunlin, Chiayi areas, Penghu, Matsu, and the mountainous areas of Taitung have a chance of localized heavy rain.

The Weather Administration reminds the public to be aware of lightning, strong gusts, and rising river levels.
