Hong Kong police announced early this morning the arrest of one man and one woman, accusing them of violating the "Safeguarding National Security Ordinance". According to Hong Kong media reports, the woman is Wong Man-hin, the operator of "Hunter Bookstore" and a former district councilor.

The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force announced early this morning that police conducted an operation in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon yesterday, searched a shop, and arrested its operators, a 33-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man. The two are suspected of violating the "Act with Sedition Intent" under the National Security Ordinance and the "Handling Property Representing Proceeds of an Indictable Offence" under the Organized and Serious Crimes Ordinance.

Police accused the two of allegedly displaying "items with seditious intent" in the shop and selling "publications with seditious intent," which included content inciting hatred towards the Hong Kong SAR government, the judiciary, and law enforcement agencies.

According to the announcement, police claimed that the two arrested individuals allegedly "received multiple remittances from foreign political organizations." Police seized a batch of items with seditious intent, books, and related documents from the shop and the residences of the two individuals. They are currently being detained for investigation.
