(CNA, Kinmen County, June 29) Four Chinese Coast Guard vessels intruded into Kinmen's restricted waters today and were driven away by Coast Guard patrol boats employing a "one-on-one" parallel navigation tactic. The four Chinese vessels exited the waters around 5 p.m. The Coast Guard Administration stated that this marks the fourth intrusion by Chinese Coast Guard vessels into Kinmen's restricted waters in June.

A press release from the Kinma-Penghu Branch of the Coast Guard Administration, Maritime Affairs Bureau, stated that the 12th Patrol District detected abnormal movements of a Chinese Coast Guard vessel formation around 2 p.m. The four Chinese Coast Guard vessels, identified as "14606," "14531," "14607," and "14530," intruded into Kinmen's restricted waters in two groups around 3 p.m., approaching from the southeast of Jialuo and the southwest of Zhai Shan.

The Kinma-Penghu Branch stated that Coast Guard patrol boats immediately adopted "one-on-one" parallel navigation monitoring, collected evidence throughout the process, and broadcasted demands in both Chinese and English via radio for the Chinese Coast Guard vessels to immediately change course and leave. Under the Coast Guard's driving away, the Chinese vessels exited Kinmen waters at approximately 5:09 p.m.

The Coast Guard Administration emphasized that countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France have successively expressed grave concern regarding China's actions that disrupt regional stability, endanger international shipping safety, and escalate regional tensions. However, China repeatedly attempts to create a false impression of jurisdiction through methods such as "false enforcement, true expansion of power." The Coast Guard Administration strongly condemns this.

The Coast Guard Administration reiterated that the sovereignty of the Republic of China, Taiwan, is not to be challenged. The Coast Guard Administration will take all necessary measures to firmly defend national sovereignty and fully protect maritime rights and interests. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150629
