9 Counties/Cities Warned of High Temperatures, Pingtung's Zhutian Reaches 37.1 Degrees Celsius

(CNA reporter Chang Hsiung-feng Taipei, June 29) The Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications updated its high-temperature information this afternoon. The weather is hot and sunny, with 9 counties and cities, including New Taipei and Taoyuan, warned of temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius around noon. As of 2 p.m., Zhutian Township in Pingtung County recorded the highest temperature at 37.1 degrees Celsius.

New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Changhua County, Nantou County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and Yilan County are under a yellow alert, with warnings of temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius.

According to the CWA website, as of 2 p.m. today, the highest temperature recorded was 37.1 degrees Celsius in Zhutian Township, Pingtung County, followed by 36.6 degrees Celsius in Xindian District, New Taipei City.
