TSMC Rises NT$105, Taiwan Stocks Surge Over 1300 Points in Early Trading, Breaking 46300

(CNA) Major U.S. stock indices closed higher on the 29th, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, highly correlated with Taiwan stocks, rising 506.09 points, or 3.83%. The Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index futures rose 805 points overnight. Taiwan stocks also moved higher today, surging over 1300 points in early trading, surpassing the 5-day and monthly moving averages, and breaking 46300 points.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) jumped 5.26%. TSMC's stock price strengthened in tandem today, climbing to NT$2475 in early trading, an increase of NT$105. Its market capitalization reached NT$64.18 trillion, contributing approximately 834 points to the broader market.
