MLB's Lee Hao-yu Hits Two Doubles, Drives in 2 Runs; June Batting Average Stands at .360

(CNA) - Major League Baseball (MLB) player Lee Hao-yu, a 23-year-old Taiwanese talent with the Detroit Tigers, recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs today. His batting average for June currently stands at .360, maintaining his good form and helping the Tigers defeat the New York Yankees 7-3.

In today's game against the Yankees, Lee Hao-yu started at fifth in the batting order and played second base. In the top of the first inning, the Tigers took the lead with a double by Dillon Dingler and a hit by Spencer Torkelson. Facing Yankees starting pitcher Ryan Weathers, Lee Hao-yu hit a 155 km/h fastball for a double to center field. After sliding into second base, Lee Hao-yu briefly showed a pained expression and crouched on the ground. After confirming he was alright, he remained in the game, but his teammates couldn't extend the rally.

In the top of the second inning, the Tigers extended their lead to 3-0 with a series of hits, an error, and a sacrifice fly. Lee Hao-yu came to bat with the bases loaded and hit a single to left field, driving in two runs and widening the lead, forcing the Yankees to remove starting pitcher Ryan Weathers.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Tigers scored two more runs on a hit by Kevin McGonigle. Lee Hao-yu hit a fly ball to right field for an out. In the top of the seventh, he hit a ground ball to shortstop for an out. In the top of the ninth, he hit a ground ball in front of the catcher for another out.

The Tigers led 7-0 after four innings. The Yankees' offense was contained through the first seven innings until Amed Rosario hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to narrow the deficit, but they ultimately fell short and took the loss.

Lee Hao-yu went 2-for-5 today with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. His season batting average is now .258. He has maintained good form in June, with a .360 batting average for the month so far, having recorded 18 hits in 50 at-bats over 16 games.
