(CNA Taipei, July 1) China's first robotics school, the "Hangzhou Robotics School," officially opened on June 30. The first batch of 30 robots will undergo training for different positions such as security, housekeeping, and guidance. They will then be equipped with a "logic brain" to learn and execute skills. Some robots will be endowed with functions like emotion recognition to cultivate independent thinking abilities, ultimately enabling them to enter households.

According to reports from Zhejiang Daily and Hangzhou Net on June 30, most robots produced by Chinese companies currently cannot think or learn independently. Robots on the market generally give the impression of being "simple-minded but physically capable." Their ability to dance, for example, relies entirely on pre-set programs. Once they leave their designated scenarios, they become "expensive lumps of iron."

Zhu Shiqiang, Dean of the Zhejiang University Robotics Research Institute, stated that Zhejiang University, as one of the initiators of the robotics school, has developed a "logic brain" based on the "VL2A" architecture, enabling robots to learn professional skills for specific positions.

The training path designed by Zhejiang University for robots involves first assessing the robot's hardware and mobility capabilities, then providing specialized training for positions such as security, housekeeping, and guidance, and equipping them with the "logic brain." After training, robots must undergo strict assessments. Those who pass will be awarded a certificate, serving as a pass for robots to enter specific industries.

The robotics school also trains "companion robots," instilling them with functions such as emotion recognition and memory enhancement to aid in independent thinking and learning. During testing, a tester sat on a sofa and sighed softly. The "companion robot" beside them recognized this, immediately offered comfort, and told jokes to cheer up the tester.

Liu Jinchang, a researcher at the High-Technology Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, believes that the Hangzhou Robotics School is expected to truly advance robots from "movable" to "capable of working" products, helping the robotics industry enter a new phase. new stage. stage. stage. stage. stage. stage.
