(CNA, reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, July 1) TSMC has confirmed its second-quarter earnings call will be held on July 16, igniting a rally. Taiwan stocks opened today with gains exceeding 1,000 points, but later saw those gains narrow. The market is currently fluctuating around the 47,000 point level. As of 10:40 AM, the TAIEX index in the main board was up 835.81 points, trading at 46961.72 points, with a turnover of approximately NT$760.9 billion.

Among the four major weighted stocks, TSMC reached a high of NT$2495, up NT$85 intraday. MediaTek hit a high of NT$4380, up NT$135. Delta Electronics reached a high of NT$2020, up NT$70. Hon Hai Precision Industry reached a high of NT$255.5, up NT$4.5. However, MediaTek and Hon Hai's stock prices both briefly fell below the flat line during trading.

Passive component stocks continued to strengthen. Leading company Yageo hit a high of NT$1220 intraday, an increase of more than half a board lot, setting a new record high since its stock split. This drove multiple stocks in the sector, including Kamaka, Huafong, Walsin Technology, Leadis Technology, Jiuhau, and Mwise, to hit their upper limit during trading.

Lin Bing-kui, Deputy General Manager of Allianz Global Investors Taiwan, analyzed that after reaching new highs, Taiwan stocks have entered a period of consolidation with increased market volatility recently. Overall, Taiwan stocks remain in a consolidation phase within an uptrend, but the market has shifted from index-driven gains to industry and individual stock leadership. He stated that key factors to watch for Taiwan stocks going forward include foreign investor movements, the semiconductor industry cycle, and whether the AI supply chain continues to drive capital inflows.

From an industry perspective, Lin Bing-kui pointed out that the main focus of the market remains on the AI and semiconductor supply chain. Although the pullback in US tech stocks has put short-term pressure on major electronic stocks, AI-related demand, advanced manufacturing processes, high-performance computing, and corporate earnings outlook remain positive, and the market retains confidence in long-term growth momentum.
