2026 Tainan Art Exhibition Winners Announced, 3 Claim Tainan Award

(CNA reporter Chang Jung-hsiang Tainan, July 1) The winners of the 2026 Tainan Art Exhibition were announced today. Cai Peiyu and two others in the Oriental Media category won the "Tainan Award." The winning and selected works are scheduled to be exhibited at the Guiren Cultural Center from September 18 to October 25, with an awards ceremony on September 20.

The winners of the "Tainan Award" for the 2026 Tainan Art Exhibition are Cai Peiyu's "Dream Butterfly Time" in the Oriental Media category, Zhang Jiarong's "Fragments of Calligraphy" in the Calligraphy category, and Zhang Chuanming's "Incense Smoke" in the Photography category.

The first-place winners in the other three categories are Lin Yanfu's "Untitled (To Arise Is to Fade)" in the Western Media category, Li Peiti's "Lingering Breath" in the Three-Dimensional Modeling category, and Yang Licheng's "Guardian" in the Traditional Crafts category.

The Tainan City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the 2026 Tainan Art Exhibition solicited works in six major categories: Western Media, Oriental Media, Calligraphy, Photography, Three-Dimensional Modeling, and Traditional Crafts. A total of 489 works were submitted, with 92 ultimately selected, resulting in an acceptance rate of 18.81%.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau said that the Tainan Art Exhibition is an important competitive stage for art creators and a vital platform for the continuous accumulation of urban culture and intergenerational dialogue. The city government has significantly increased the first-place prize money to reward outstanding works, providing practical resources to support creators in dedicating themselves to their art with peace of mind, and finding a stage in Tainan to realize their ideals and continue their development.
