(CNA Kyiv, July 2nd, Combined Reports) At least 17 people were killed in a Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight. Kyiv Mayor Klitschko called it the largest attack on Kyiv since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. President Zelensky stated he hopes the US will authorize the production of Patriot missiles and other forms of cooperation.
According to AFP, as rescue workers continue to search for survivors in the rubble of a destroyed apartment building, Klitschko posted on social media today: "Tomorrow, July 3rd, will be a day of mourning for Kyiv, to commemorate the citizens who lost their lives in the largest enemy attack on the capital."
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated later today that he has requested the US to issue a license for Ukraine to produce Patriot air defense missiles.
Zelensky posted on social media platform Facebook: "Providing air defense supplies to Ukraine is an absolute and crucial priority...
