Changhua County Exempts Regulated and Specially Registered Factories from Management Fees for 1 Year

(CNA, reporter Cheng Wei-chen, Changhua, July 2nd) The Changhua County Government announced that the Ministry of Economic Affairs today approved the county government's proposal for preferential adjustments to the management guidance fees and operational management fees for specially registered factories. Changhua County becomes the first county in the nation to implement a one-year suspension of these fees.

The county government stated that for businesses that have already paid this year's fees, the relevant amounts will be retained and offset against the fees due next year, to protect the rights and interests of businesses.

Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei said in a press release this evening that in response to the impact of US tariff policies and the US-Iran war situation on Changhua County's regulated and specially registered (special registration) factories, she announced at the end of last year that the county would cooperate with the Ministry of Economic Affairs' measures and actively seek to suspend the collection of both fees from the central government.

Wang Hui-mei mentioned that Changhua County currently has approximately 7,200 regulated and specially registered factories, ranking second in the nation. Among these, there are over 3,700 specially registered factories, with more than 120 having had their land use plans approved, and a total of 5 ultimately obtaining legal factory registration. These three indicators are all first in the nation, demonstrating Changhua County's outstanding achievements in guiding unregistered factories toward legalization.

The Department of Economic Development and Green Energy stated that it will continue to monitor industry development trends, listen to grassroots needs, and in addition to seeking central government resources, will also dynamically review relevant policies, develop supporting measures that better meet industry needs, enhance industry resilience and adaptability, and guide regulated and specially registered factory operators towards legal operations.
