(CNA reporter Chen Chih-chung Taipei, July 2nd) With the summer vacation for elementary and middle schools approaching, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has recently reminded all schools to cooperate with parents to continuously monitor student safety, especially concerning the dangers of etonidate (commonly known as 'zombie drug') and e-cigarettes, as well as to be vigilant against scams.
The MOE issued a press release today stating that it has compiled "Safety Precautions for Student Activities During the 115 Summer Vacation Period for All Levels of Schools" and is reminding schools and parents through various channels.

The MOE urges parents to remind their children not to easily provide personal account information and to use third-party payment platforms with caution. They can check information by downloading the "Police Service APP" on their mobile phones to avoid being exploited by criminals.
Young students are also easily affected by misinformation, cyberbullying, and the leakage of sexual imagery. Schools can utilize media literacy and digital citizenship education resources to enhance their ability to use the internet safely.
Recently, 'drug driving' has become a focal point of attention in Taiwanese society. The MOE reminds the public that etonidate (Etomidate) has been classified as a Class 1 controlled drug, and its manufacturing, transportation, and sale can be punishable by death. Do not break the law. Furthermore, e-cigarettes are completely banned in Taiwan. Students should remember the "three no's" policy: "no trying, no buying, no recommending." If there are any concerns, contact teachers or the school immediately.
The MOE stated that during the summer vacation, schools will have on-duty personnel to monitor student safety. In emergencies, the MOE's School Safety Center can be contacted for immediate assistance and response support. response support. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150702
