(CNA) Regarding the anomaly found in Formosa soybean salad oil, the chain restaurant group Wang Steak (王品) conducted an internal investigation today. It was confirmed that 18 stores in Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County, the Green Pepper Hot Pot base at Qing Hua Jiao (青花驕), and the retail canned sand tea sauce from Wan Shien (萬鮮) had indeed used oil from the affected batch. The company immediately stopped using soybean salad oil, and all retail products involving the relevant oil have been notified to sales channels for recall.

Wang Steak issued a statement saying that it has long procured cooking oil from a well-known domestic manufacturer and possesses qualified inspection certificates. "We deeply regret and apologize for the incident that occurred with the upstream supplier."

Wang Steak pointed out that to ensure customer food safety, the group immediately stopped using soybean salad oil to guarantee that current food service is unaffected. Furthermore, all retail products involving the relevant oil have been notified to sales channels for recall.

Wang Steak stated that soybean salad oil is a major commodity in Taiwan's catering industry, widely used and with extensive impact. The Wang Steak Group will cooperate with the investigation progress of government authorities and demonstrate a responsible attitude through practical actions. (Editor: Lin Shu-yuan) 1150702
