323 Households Affected by Neihu Flooding on June 25; 311 Households Have Received Relief Funds

(CNA, Taipei, July 2) In response to the flooding in parts of Neihu District, Taipei City, caused by heavy rainfall on June 25, the Neihu District Office announced today that a total of 323 households were affected. To assist with their recovery, relief funds have been disbursed to 311 households. Twelve households remain uncontactable or were not met during visits; notices have been left, and efforts to contact them will continue.

Regarding the June 25 flooding incident, the Neihu District Office released information stating that the distribution of NT$10,000 in relief funds is underway. A total of 323 households were affected, and funds have been disbursed to 311. For the remaining 12 households, who are either uncontactable or were not met during visits, notices have been left for them to contact the office as soon as possible, and efforts to reach them will continue.

Secondly, concerning natural disaster relief funds, the district office stated that to expedite disbursement, district staff proactively visited households from June 29 to July 1 during three separate inspection periods. On-site assessments identified 196 households eligible for relief, and their applications will be reviewed and processed promptly. Assistance will be provided to complete the application procedures for those who still need to submit documents or have not yet been contacted.

Furthermore, the district office reminds the public that the Taipei City Government fully subsidizes the installation of flood barriers, regardless of whether an area is prone to flooding. During the distribution of relief funds and the visits for disaster relief applications, affected households were reminded twice to apply. In Jinlong Village, which was more severely affected, a dedicated service point has been set up at the village office to accept applications. As of July 1, 29 households have submitted applications.
