(Central News Agency reporter Chiu Tzu-yun Taipei, July 4) The 2026 National Taiwan Literary Camp will officially begin tomorrow, with Digital Minister Lin Yi-ching delivering a keynote speech titled "Literary Creation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" at the "Master Lecture Hall."
The three-day event, organized by Echo Magazine, will be held at Tamkang University. Authors such as Luo Yi-jun, Tong Wei-ge, Wu Hsiao-lo, Yang Fu-min, Jen Ming-hsin, and Yi Chih-yen will serve as mentors, leading courses in novel, essay, new poetry, and film/drama.
The lineup for the 50 literary classes is strong. The film/drama group has invited "The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful" director Adian Yang, three-time Golden Melody Award winner for music Ke Chih-hao, and Huang Ho, who recently won a Silver Award for Best Actor at the 2026 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, to teach.
Notably, the film night at this year's literary camp will screen Korean director Lee Chang-dong's film "Poetry" (4K digital restoration version), followed by a post-screening talk by Jen Ming-hsin, a mentor for the new poetry group.
Lin Yi-ching, the keynote speaker for the "Master Lecture Hall" on the 6th, is both a technologist and a literary figure. In his book "The Happy Ghost Island," he wrote, "For the past hundred years, every generation of Taiwanese has felt that they were doomed, but in the end, they were not. Taiwan has always weathered various calamities and become stronger and happier." This sentiment can also serve to encourage creators in the AI era.
The organizers stated that hundreds of literary enthusiasts are participating this year, including many overseas students who have traveled from Japan, Hong Kong, and China, demonstrating the charm and appeal of the Taiwan Literary Camp. (Editor: Yang Sheng-ru) 1150704
