(CNA, Tainan, July 4) Under the witness of Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che, the Tainan City Government's Bureau of Agriculture, the Seoul Underground Shopping Street Merchants Association, and the Taiwan Inbound Tour Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today. The plan is to use the underground shopping street spaces as a platform to establish overseas outposts, bringing the story of Tainan to Seoul.

The Tainan City Government issued a press release today stating that this tripartite MOU was signed in Seoul, South Korea. The plan is to use the Seoul Underground Shopping Street merchant spaces as a platform to establish overseas outposts for promoting Tainan's agricultural products, tourism, culture, and city brand, thereby launching an innovative model for overseas city marketing.

Huang Wei-che said that South Korea is an important international exchange partner for Tainan and a crucial market for expanding agricultural products and tourism. The Seoul subway has a massive ridership. Tainan and the underground shopping street business district will establish regular cooperation to promote Tainan or market and sell Tainan's agricultural specialties, enhancing Tainan's international visibility and attracting more South Korean tourists to purchase Tainan's quality goods.

Huang Wei-che added that this tripartite cooperation symbolizes a new model for cross-border exchange promoted by the government, businesses, and the public. In the future, cooperation in agriculture, tourism, culture, sports, and industry will continue to be deepened, bringing the story of Tainan to Seoul and bringing South Korean tourists to Tainan.

The City Government explained that it will integrate resources from various bureaus and departments to plan diverse thematic exhibition content, including Tainan's four seasons of travel, food culture, festivals, sporting events, and art performances.
