(CNA reporter Wang Hsin-yu, Taipei, July 4) Minister of Culture Lee Yun today attended the press conference for "A Whole Day Playing at the TV Station" and apologized for his recent remarks in the Legislative Yuan regarding Taiwan Plus and the film "Kung Fu." He emphasized that everything he said was to secure the budget and also praised the Public Broadcasting Group for its hidden talents.

Lee Yun had previously apologized in the Legislative Yuan for the Cultural Development Fund's investment in the film "Kung Fu" and called Taiwan Plus a disaster.

Speaking at a PTS press conference today, Lee Yun stated that he was under immense pressure at the time. "I just wanted to secure the budget, I would say anything," he said. Whether it was the apology for the film "Kung Fu" or calling Taiwan Plus a disaster, he stressed that it was about the "system itself."

Lee Yun pointed out that PTS has won over a hundred awards and has frequently broken new ground in Taiwanese dramas. Not only PTS, but Hakka TV, TaiwanTV, as well as CTS News and Taiwan Plus have performed well. The Public Broadcasting Group is full of hidden talents.

Lee Yun added that after his remarks, he also explained how to move in a better direction. The purpose of saying many things was to secure the budget. He also encouraged the Public Broadcasting Group to believe in everything they do. "Belief is a light, we move forward by looking at this light. I hope everyone can forgive me for my wrong words."

Public Broadcasting Group Chairman Hu Yuan-hui stated in his speech that today's event aims to give children an in-depth tour of the TV station. One of the important functions of public media is to cultivate media literacy, and it also has a responsibility to report and explain to the outside world, and to understand what the public wants to know. In addition to seminars or surveys, they also want to use events like today to allow people to understand media operations in a relaxed way.

The Public Broadcasting Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and is holding the "A Whole Day Playing at the TV Station" event on July 4th and 5th. The event invites the public to enter the studio, challenge themselves as news anchors, or transform into drama protagonists through AI, experiencing everything from news, drama, technology to children's programs, embarking on a unique TV station journey.
