Kaohsiung Man Dies After Being Stabbed Twice at Home Entrance Amid Debt Dispute; Police Arrest 2, Pursue 4 Others

(Central News Agency, Reporter Hong Xueguang, Kaohsiung, July 4) A man surnamed Fu in Kaohsiung was found lying at the entrance of his residence today with two stab wounds to his back. He was rushed to the hospital but died. Police have arrested two men surnamed Sun and Xue and are pursuing three other male and one female accomplices. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive was a debt dispute of NT$100,000. The case is being processed for charges of assault resulting in death.

The Sanmin First Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Bureau told CNA reporters that the 60-year-old Mr. Fu lived with his girlfriend in Sanmin District. However, at around 3 a.m. today, his girlfriend and a friend discovered him lying at the entrance of their residence with two stab wounds to his back. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead.

Upon arrival at the scene, police formed a special task force with the Kaohsiung City Criminal Investigation Division and requested the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office to direct the investigation. By identifying the suspect vehicle and tracing individuals, they located and apprehended 39-year-old Mr. Sun and 43-year-old Mr. Xue, who are now being questioned. Mr. Fu's live-in girlfriend and his friend were also brought in for questioning. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive stemmed from a debt dispute of NT$100,000.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police have initially identified five men and one woman as suspects. In addition to the apprehended Mr. Sun and Mr. Xue, they are continuing to trace the origins and pursue the remaining three male and one female accomplices. The case has been transferred to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of assault resulting in death. Police have requested pre-trial detention.
