(Central News Agency London, July 6th, Comprehensive Foreign News) British Prince Harry was originally rumored to be staying at his father King Charles III's residence, Buckingham Palace, during his visit to London this week for an event. However, this plan has been denied by Buckingham Palace, adding another change to his trip to the UK.
According to Agence France-Presse, Harry has only made brief trips back to the UK for charity events or lawsuits since stepping down from royal duties with his wife Meghan and moving to North America in 2020. He is now embarking on a 5-day visit to the UK, primarily to promote next year's event for the "Invictus Games" he launched in 2014 in Birmingham.
This trip was originally expected to be Harry's first visit back to the UK with Meghan, son Archie, and daughter Lilibet in four years. However, sources told Agence France-Presse over the weekend that his family would not accompany him to London due to the alleged refusal of British authorities to provide royal protection for Harry's family.
Subsequently, the British media, citing Harry's spokesperson, reported that he had accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace. However, Buckingham Palace stated shortly after that Harry had missed the invitation deadline and therefore would not be staying.
According to the latest statement provided by Harry's spokesperson to Agence France-Presse, the invitation to be hosted by his father was "regrettably withdrawn at the last minute." (Compiled by Chang Cheng-chien) 1150706
