(CNA) Research firm TrendForce announced panel prices for early July today, predicting that prices for all sizes of TV panels will turn downward in July. 32-inch panels are expected to drop by $1, 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch panels by $2, and 65-inch and 75-inch panels by $3. Prices for LCD monitor and notebook panels are expected to remain flat.

Fan Po-yu, Deputy General Manager of TrendForce, stated that TV panel demand enters a lull period in July, with restocking for the year-end peak season in August and September not yet initiated. Under high cost pressure, brand clients continue to request price reductions from panel manufacturers. With demand temporarily weakening, panel manufacturers are expected to make slight concessions on TV panel prices.

Fan Po-yu said that demand for LCD monitor panels began to weaken in July. After the initial restocking demand subsided, clients started to adjust their panel requirements. It is estimated that LCD monitor panel demand in the third quarter may decrease by 6.7% quarter-on-quarter. As demand gradually loosens and TV panel prices also begin to weaken, the favorable factors supporting the price increase of LCD monitor panels in the second quarter are gradually disappearing, and prices will enter a period of consolidation.

TrendForce assesses that panel manufacturers' cost pressure remains high at this stage, and they are unwilling to make further concessions on prices. Therefore, it is predicted that LCD monitor panel prices will turn flat across the board in July.

Regarding notebook panels, due to the very aggressive restocking attitude of brand manufacturers in the first half of the year, the trend of declining notebook panel demand will become more apparent in the third quarter. It is estimated that the demand decline for major brands in the third quarter could reach double digits, and panel manufacturers will feel significant pressure on shipment momentum.

However, the cost pressure for major panel manufacturers' notebook panels is currently extremely high, and brand clients are gradually recognizing this situation. Even if demand begins to decline significantly, panel manufacturers may not have much room for concessions. Under these circumstances, it is predicted that notebook panel prices will remain flat across the board in July. (Edited by Chang Chun-mao) 1150706
