(Taipei, July 7, 2024, CNA, International News) DeMar DeRozan, a 17-season veteran who has been selected to the NBA All-Star Game six times, was released by the Sacramento Kings today after two seasons with the team.

The Kings announced the news on social media platform X, stating, "Thank you for every shot, every clutch moment, and every time you represented Sacramento. We wish you all the best in your next chapter."

During his tenures with the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, and the Kings, DeRozan has played in 1,264 games, averaging 21.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game.

The 36-year-old DeRozan helped the U.S. team win the men's basketball gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and won the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2014. Last season, he averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game.

However, the teams DeRozan has played for in the past seven seasons have missed the playoffs six times, including his two seasons with the Kings.
