Heavy Afternoon Convection, Heavy Rain Advisory Issued for Greater Taipei and 7 Other Counties

Taipei, July 7 (CNA) The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain advisory this afternoon, stating that vigorous convective cloud systems are developing, leading to localized heavy rainfall. Greater Taipei, Nantou County, and the mountainous areas from Taoyuan to Taichung are at risk of experiencing localized heavy rain.

Areas affected by heavy rain include Taipei City, New Taipei City, mountainous areas of Taoyuan City, mountainous areas of Hsinchu County, mountainous areas of Miaoli County, mountainous areas of Taichung City, and Nantou County. Be aware of lightning and strong gusts. Mountainous areas should be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, and rising water levels in streams. Low-lying areas should be wary of flooding.
