Taiwan Stocks Fall 1077.28 Points

(CNA Taipei, July 7) The Taiwan stock market closed down 1077.28 points today at 45479.11 points, a decrease of 2.31%, with a transaction volume of NT$1.169626 trillion.

The weighted index opened at 46537.34 points, reaching a high of 46967.04 points and a low of 45432.02 points during the session; the index excluding financial stocks was 40864.71 points, down 1088.99 points.

Percentage changes for the eight major stock categories: cement and ceramics stocks fell 2.34%, food stocks fell 0.44%, petrochemical stocks fell 4.02%, textile stocks fell 0.15%, machinery and electrical stocks fell 2.61%, paper stocks fell 1.49%, construction stocks fell 1.50%, and financial stocks rose 1.15%.

Buy orders were 24,527,168 shares, sell orders were 19,292,538 shares, and transactions were 15,235,848 shares.

At the close, 140 stocks advanced, 909 stocks declined, and 56 stocks remained unchanged.

The top 5 stocks by transaction volume were Cathay Taiwan Weighted Bull 2X ETF, Innolux, AU Optronics, Fubon TOP 50 Taiwan ETF, and Yuanta Taiwan 50 Bull 2X ETF.

The top 5 stocks by gain were Cospharm*, Giga-Byte Technology, JMicron Technology, Han-Kuang-KY, and Ricoh Electronics.

The top 5 stocks by decline were Fubon Apple ETF Bull 2X, GlobalWafers, Rong-Ko, Formosa Plastics, and Nichidenbo. 07/07/2015
