(Central News Agency, reporter Wang Chaoyu, Keelung, July 7) Police are investigating the alleged child abuse case at Keelung's "Famous Kindergarten." Today, the kindergarten's male director, surnamed Lin, his wife, the female principal, and four educators were questioned. After interrogation by the prosecutor, they were granted bail ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$200,000 in the evening, with restrictions on leaving the country and sea.

Following the Keelung City Police Department's Third Precinct reporting to the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office, which assigned a prosecutor from the Special Task Force for Women and Children to command the investigation, prosecutors summoned 10 parents of the victimized children yesterday to testify and clarify the case. Today, they once again directed the Third Precinct to question the educators, including Lin Jiajing and Liu Kejie, who were publicly named by the Keelung City Government, as well as female educators surnamed Huang and Yang from the senior class, along with the principal, Ms. Liu, and the director, Mr. Lin.

After the police took their statements, they transferred the six defendants to the District Prosecutor's Office around 4 p.m. on suspicion of assault and violating the Criminal Code's offense of obstructing the development of a child. After interrogation by the prosecutor, Lin Jiajing, Mr. Lin, and Principal Liu were each granted bail of NT$200,000, while the other three defendants were each granted bail of NT$100,000.

During the 5th parent meeting convened by Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang yesterday evening, regarding online rumors that some defendants had left the country, Chen Yingyuan, director of the Keelung City Police Department's Third Precinct, stated that according to police understanding, the defendants had not left the country. The prosecutor also ordered the six defendants to be restricted from leaving the country and sea.

Furthermore, when the police were preparing to transfer the six defendants to the District Prosecutor's Office this afternoon, they were questioned by the media with questions such as "Do you regret it?" and "Do you want to apologize to the parents?" The defendants all wore masks and remained silent. At this time, two parents who had been waiting outside the precinct for a long time shouted, "Principal, do you have a conscience?" "Principal, come out, why hit children, child abuse!" "Where is your conscience?" The police immediately intervened, and under police escort, the defendants were transferred to the District Prosecutor's Office in three unmarked police cars. (Editor: Yang Zhaoyan) 1150707
