KEELUNG, July 7 (CNA) -- Regarding the alleged child abuse case at Keelung's Mingren Kindergarten, Keelung City Government Secretary-General Xie Xiaokun stated today that the city government is accelerating its second wave of administrative investigations. The committee will convene today and will proceed with the direction of revoking Mingren Kindergarten's establishment permit.

Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang has already instructed various departments to establish a cross-departmental task force, with Xie Xiaokun serving as the convener and Director of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs Wu Yujie as the deputy convener. Xie Xiaokun stated at a press conference today that personnel interviews were completed yesterday, and the disciplinary results will be announced as early as tomorrow.

Xie Xiaokun said that excluding the preschoolers who are about to enter elementary school, a total of 58 children at Mingren Kindergarten require assistance. Among them, 16 are in the toddler class, 17 are moving from the small class to the middle class, and 25 are moving from the middle class to the large class. Currently, only one parent is still considering their options, while the rest have completed their relocation plans. The Department of Education will continue to maintain contact and assist with subsequent arrangements to ensure that the children can smoothly transition to a learning environment.

Xie Xiaokun said that Mayor Xie Guoliang held his fifth face-to-face meeting with parents last night and proposed assistance measures for the parents' requests. Firstly, the city government will arrange for appointed lawyers to provide two hours of legal consultation services at the Baifu Community every week. During regular times, personnel from the Department of Legal Affairs and Labor will assist in compiling legal issues through a LINE group, enabling lawyers to provide professional assistance more efficiently.

Furthermore, Xie Xiaokun stated that parents wish to continue viewing relevant surveillance footage. The city government has also promised to set up six computers at Baifu Junior High School starting from the 13th for parents to view. Additionally, for the transitional period before the children transfer schools, the city government will dispatch personnel to the kindergarten to assist in maintaining the quality of care and teaching, reducing parental concerns and ensuring the children receive proper care during this transition period.
