(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 7) - President Lai Ching-te hosted a dinner for the spouses of academicians attending the 36th Academia Sinica Academician Conference this evening. The President stated that the government will continue to invest more resources and promote various "Invest in Future Generations" initiatives, hoping that through education, technology, and national development policies, more outstanding talents will be willing to develop in Taiwan, making Taiwan a major hub for international academic development.
The Presidential Office issued a press release stating that President Lai, accompanied by Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim, hosted a dinner for the spouses of academicians attending the 36th Academia Sinica Academician Conference. He expressed gratitude to the Academia Sinica academicians for their dedicated efforts in promoting national scientific development.
In his speech, the President remarked that the 36th Academician Conference has been underway for two days, and everyone has worked hard. He thanked all academicians for their dedicated efforts in promoting national scientific development. The President said that the content of this academician conference is very rich, not only covering the latest releases on national scientific research cooperation and technological innovation but also focusing on issues such as demographic changes, talent cultivation, and national development, fully demonstrating the academicians' active response to the important issues facing Taiwan and the world.
President Lai emphasized that the future government will invest more resources and continue to promote various "Invest in Future Generations" initiatives. Through the overall strategic layout of education, technology, and national development policies, the government will strengthen the cultivation of new scientific research talent, attract and cooperate with international elites, and encourage more outstanding talents to develop in Taiwan, making Taiwan a major hub for international academic development.
The President stated that academic research is a long road. Subsequently, President Lai, Vice President Hsiao, and President of Academia Sinica Dr. Chen Chien-jen jointly raised their glasses to toast all the academicians.
