Executive Yuan Secretary-General Chang Chun-han stated today that according to current path predictions, July 10th and 11th will be the most intense period of the typhoon's impact, with some areas potentially exceeding 1000 millimeters of cumulative rainfall. He urged local governments to strengthen the dredging of side ditches, and the military has already deployed 28,922 personnel for preparedness and response.
The Central Weather Bureau indicated that Bavi has a wide storm radius and a large impact range. A sea typhoon warning is expected to be issued on the morning of July 9th, followed by a land warning on the evening of July 9th or early morning of July 10th. The heaviest rainfall is anticipated on July 10th and 11th, with mountainous areas north of Taichung facing rainfall of torrential rain or higher levels. Chang Chun-han co-chaired a preparedness meeting with Executive Yuan Minister Without Portfolio Chi Lien-cheng this morning with representatives from all 22 cities and counties to discuss typhoon response measures.

Regarding the landslide lake at Wanli Creek in Hualien, Chang Chun-han reported that the current water storage volume of the landslide lake is approximately 3.25 million metric tons, about 64% of its maximum capacity. The central government and the Hualien County government are continuously and closely monitoring the risks. He also reminded residents returning to their hometowns recently to report to their township offices to confirm the list of protected households and ensure their safety.
