Taipei, July 7 (CNA) Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) today revealed the latest interior photos of its new generation N700ST train cars on its official Facebook fan page, announcing that system integration testing for the entire train is complete and signaling that the first new train is 24 days away from its factory rollout, expected at the end of July.
The first of 12 new generation N700ST trains procured by THSR from Japan is expected to roll out of the factory at the end of July and be transported to Taiwan in mid-August. According to THSR's previous plan, all new trains will be in full operation by the end of 2028. Chairman Shieh Cheh had previously revealed that the first new train is expected to be in service in July of next year.
THSR stated on Facebook that the completion of a high-speed rail train's manufacturing is not the end of the process. The 12 meticulously crafted carriages need to undergo system integration after assembly to ensure that power and signals are transmitted smoothly throughout the entire train and that all critical equipment operates normally, thereby achieving the safety and comfort that passengers naturally expect.
THSR also released multiple new interior photos of the N700ST new generation train cars, including the seats and the entrance passage.
THSR pointed out that the completion of system integration testing for the entire N700ST train marks the final milestone before factory rollout. This achievement is attributed to the meticulous control of details by both Taiwanese and Japanese technical teams throughout the design, manufacturing, and various testing and inspection stages, embodying a craftsman's spirit to perfect the passenger experience.
