Foxconn Partners with Mitsubishi FUSO to Target Zero-Emission Buses, New Company to Be Established in Second Half of Year

(CNA) - July 7 - Foxconn announced in a press release on the 6th that both parties have reached an agreement on the proposed new bus manufacturer's intended company name, corporate identity, management team structure, and corporate vision, with establishment planned for the second half of this year.

Foxconn and Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) stated that the new company will further accelerate efforts related to the decarbonization of mobility and the development of public transportation.

According to the press release, the intended name for the new company is FUSO BUS Co., Ltd., with establishment planned for the second half of this year. The headquarters will be located in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Its main business will encompass the development, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service of both internal combustion engine (ICE) buses and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) buses for domestic and international markets.

The new company will be equally owned, with Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation and Foxconn each holding a 50% stake. The production base will be located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.

Foxconn and Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation indicated that the scope and specific details of this collaboration are expected to be announced separately. The relevant transactions are subject to approval from the board of directors, shareholders, and regulatory authorities before closing.

According to information, Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is located in Kawasaki City, Japan. Daimler Truck AG holds 89.29% of its shares, while various companies under the Mitsubishi group hold 10.71%.
