Nantou Zhushan Township Children's Reading Center Adds 200 New Books, Reading Reviews Earn Gifts

(CNA reporter Hsiao Po-yang, Nantou County, July 8) 200 new books have arrived at the Zhushan Township Children's Reading Center, covering character education, life education, natural sciences, life knowledge, and fun stories. The township office is also holding a summer reading review exchange for small gifts, hoping to encourage elementary school children to develop thinking skills and reading habits.

To provide a quality leisure and learning space for parents and children, the Zhushan Township Office continues to enrich the reading resources at the Children's Reading Center. This summer, 200 picture books and storybooks suitable for different age groups have been added. From July 1 to July 31, the "Summer Reading Review Activity" will be held, where elementary school children can exchange exquisite small gifts or gift certificates based on the number of reviews completed, aiming to enhance children's reading comprehension and expression skills.

The Zhushan Township Office stated today through a press release that the Zhushan Township Children's Reading Center is the only children's reading center established and operated by a township office among the 13 townships and cities in Nantou County. In addition to providing a space for parents and children to play together, it also long-term organizes storytelling, parenting education, handicraft experiences, movie screenings, and various parent-child activities, creating a friendly environment that combines play, learning, and companionship, becoming the strongest support for parents in raising children.

Zhushan Township Mayor Chen Dong-mu said that reading is the foundation of learning and an important nutrient for cultivating independent thinking and lifelong learning abilities. This batch of new books covers character education, life education, natural sciences, life knowledge, and fun stories, providing children with more diverse and rich reading choices.
